presencing: heart-centered practices for hard times

Present Heart Practice

FRIDAY, JANUARY 12
10:00-11:00 AM ET
live online + recordings

In this Metta-inspired practice, we will explore creating a sense of spaciousness physically, mentally and maybe emotionally so that we can be present and centered in our hearts.

In Chinese, the word for mindfulness is expressed by 2 characters: The top character represents the word now and the bottom represents the word heart. The translation literally stands for bringing the heart into the present, now. The heart is also a symbol of kindness, connectedness, and togetherness, and it is also said to be a doorway to an infinite space that we all share. Join this practice to expand into this heart space.

ABOUT THE SERIES

Our tension, discomfort, stress, and anxiety can make it feel impossible to feel present and open—especially these days. When we add on the distress that we have all been experiencing over the past several years, it's hard to imagine a time when we will feel resourced enough to show up in our lives and to connect with the world around us. How can we truly show up for ourselves and each other when we’re exhausted, on edge, or overwhelmed?

In this new practice series, we’ll explore mindful movement, restoratives, and compassion and Metta-inspired meditations that will balance our nervous system and garner more energy and stamina in service of meeting whatever arises with a wakeful and kind presence. Come join to bolster our ease, warmth, mood, energy, and even immunity and overall well-being.

We’ll create a foundation through the body and the senses, and then expand our awareness… gently attuning to the resonance of heart and bolstering our resilience as we open to the complex emotional experience and vulnerabilities we are carrying. Offering true presence—deep listening—to ourselves and each other not only changes the way we listen and feel heard but leaves others feeling more seen and heard as well.  This is the greatest gift of our practice.

Plus, pair each practice with my FREE Friday Deep Listening Meditations at 9:30am ET.
